A Riddle...

I have a riddle which I hope most of you guys can take some time to ponder on it and think of the answer:
Here goes,

What is greater than GOD,
more evil than the DEVIL,
The poor has it,
The rich need it,
And if you eat it, you'll DIE??

Heehehe...enjoy figuring this out....pretty simple...according to a study conducted, 80% of the kindergarten kids got the answer compared to 17% of Stanford University seniors....hehehe....I got the answer instantly too....am I a kid??Hehe.....leave it to you guys to think it over....have a nice day!!~:D

Chicken Little...A Little Chick with BIG Ambitions

CHICKEN LITTLE...the latest "chicky" flick from Disney...animation. As a big-time Disney fan...I felt compelled to share my thoughts and views on this 'little' movie which I watched last Monday.
The story revolves around Chicken Little (Duh!~) which is a little white chick(obviously) living in Oakey Oaks with his only remaining relative, his Dad, Buck, who used to be a famous all-time baseball player in their local neighborhood. He goes to the only school in town and hangs out with a bunch of rowdy misfit friends; an Ugly Duckling, Runt(a paranoid and overly anxious pig) and also Fish(a fish which could miraculously survive with a bowl of water covering his face and only gurgles all the time in communicating). They were labelled as the unpopular group in their school....and even the school practises the double standard culture...yeah, the PE teacher actually divides the basketball groups to the popular and the unpopular...hahaha:D Then there's the Mutton Language class....by Mrs. Woolsworth who teaches them to translate the English language to the Mutton Language(sheep communication talk)...and typically everything sounds like "baa....baaa..." Getting interesting, huh?
Well, the story starts with our little chicken who rang the school bell at the top of the school building to alert the whole town about the sky falling. The whole town ran into a havoc and reporters rush all the way to the scene, equipped with their cameras and crew, eager to capture the so-called "HOT" news. However, when they arrived to hear the absurd story by Chicken Little, they came to conclude that it was just an acorn falling on his head which he mistakenly thought was a piece of the sky. Everyone was disgusted and accused him of lying and making a mountain out of a mole hill....causing much disgrace and dismay to his father who immediately apologizes and brings his son home.
To come to the worst, the reporters actually made so much fun of the matter that they decide to ridiculously make it into a film and the town was all over Chicken Little for some time. Our plucky chick did not let this get into his way and he finally stood up and quoted his favourite phrase; "TODAY is a brand NEW DAY". He was determined to put the past behind him for a brand new start and marched heads up to school; however, things do not turn out the way he wanted them to be and he ended up losing his pants on his way to school. He got into his locker and turned his Maths scratch paper into his pants for the day. Then he decided to go all out for the local baseball team, in pursuit of his dad's footsteps. However, big Rooster Dad will not hear of it and tells his son to stay low after all the commotion he caused with his sky falling incident.
Chicken Little was disappointed but still tried out for the team, although he was definitely super tiny for his size and the baseball helmet actually fell over his small head and even the baseball bat seems larger than him. The coach always made him stay on the bench while counting on his favourite player whom he looks forward to grabbing the MVP(Most Valuable Player) award of the year; the famous Foxy Loxy who scorns at Chicken Little and his friends most of the time.
Chicken did not let anyone stop him and he had his chance one day when he miraculously made a victorious hit and made it to the home run and won the game after losing for the first two hits. Everyone started seeing him as a hero, much to Foxy Loxy's dismay who insists that it was just a lucky hit. All of a sudden, our little chicken turned from a zero to a hero and big Dad was so proud of his son. It was a funny scene where Chicken Little sang "I am the Champion"...and dancing around on his bed.
All seems well and Dad seems all happy and life does seem to be perfect for our little hero; until again he saw the sky falling into his bedroom this time and he turns all panicky again. He knows he is not wrong this time as the piece of so-called "sky" is in his bedroom this time and it is right before his very eyes. BUT, the big question is his reputation has just changed for the better at the moment and Daddy may disbelieve him again. Agitated, he decided to call up his pals, Ugly Duckling, Runt and Fish who happen to be singing Spice Girls "Wannabe" karaoke version at Ugly's home. They went over immediately and was amazed at what they saw. Ugly Duckling proposed for Chicken to tell his dad who refused immediately and then Fish was morphed into the UFO thingy which caused all of them to chicken run after their friend. They were led to a spaceship or an UFO and stumbled upon a conspiracy to destroy the earth. They panicked and ran away when they were discovered by the aliens and a little alien decided to follow them, unbeknownst to them.
The aliens pursued them and Chicken Little ran to the school building and rang the bell again, again causing a huge commotion. The aliens were disturbed by the noise of the bell and retreated, thus the crowd came to nothing again and accused Chicken Little of causing havoc for nothing. Then Chicken Little found the baby alien and soon after, the aliens were back, for an intervention/invasion into Earth to search for their baby alien and Chicken was all set for a mission, to protect baby alien and to deliver him safely back to his parents' arms. Chicken finally made his Dad understand that he needs faith, trust and communication from him and he will proceed to his absurd mission even without his Dad's support this time. Dad relented finally and together, father and son made through the alien's laser attacks and delivered their baby alien back to the parents whereby the invasion stopped immediately.
They thanked Chicken Little and explained that the map which they mistakenly thought was a conspiracy plan for the Earth destruction was actually a map for the acorns they were so interestingly looking for for decades and travelling through the other planets was futile in their search. They will stop by Earth each year for the acorns and thus, finally the town understood Chicken's story. Their heroic mission was filmed by Hollywood this time, portraying Chicken Little as a big Chicken, muscular with a damsel in distress by his side, his ever faithful companion, Ugly Duckling....a Happy Ending....as usual, for Disney movies.
Being an all-time Disney fan since I was born(hehehe.....metaphorically speaking), I have little doubt that I will be disappointed with most of the Disney movies I watch....that's from my standpoint alone, you guys may have different views. I enjoyed the movie....anyhow, I watched it without expectations and I ended up having a good time, and it still puts a smile on my face when I think of the little chicken which was so determined in everything he does.
To make it simple, the show has a very simple storyline which makes it all entertaining and the message behind the story is also not too complicated to comprehend. I particularly admire and was struck by Chicken Little's character as he proved that nothing is impossible....which coincidentally is my motto;) At the same time, he is small in size...but it did not stop him from pursuing dreams which are big for his head and he never gives up. His determination and positive outlook in life truly struck me and I am definitely proud of this little chicken. In his case, size really doesn't matter...the will and determination is what that matters the most when it comes down to doing something.
Runt is also another cute character whereby he is often panicky over small things but he gets motivated by songs....hehehe.....i remembered the scene where he turns all heroic when he was told that he will survive.....and he started singing "I will survive...":)
Ugly Duckling speaks a lot...making her points until people have to literally shut her up and FISH, well, all he does is just gurgle and not much significance in the movie, he's just echoing whatever the others say anyway:P
Overall, a pretty entertaining cast in addition to the creative and imaginative settings they have for the movie...imagine a chameleon for a traffic light....:D
So, all in all,be positive, live life cool and always remember....."TODAY is a brand NEW DAY"...*wink*

If Tomorrow Never Comes...

Let's take a moment to ponder on this...life is pretty ironic; things happen around us everyday and yet we take them for granted. Pretty much in a stride as we view them as part of our routine...just like our own existence in life. We wake up every morning, go to school/work, come home, watch tv and sleep and the cycle continues for 365 days. If we stop to think of it, we should realize how fortunate we are to still see ourselves each morning....and be there to go through the everyday routine cycle. I am sure most of us have heard about people dying in their sleep....or perhaps some supernatural explanation as in the body astral travel experience...a little absurd perhaps for the non-believers and skeptics.
Anyway, the point is, we do not know how fortunate we are until we actually face crisis in our lives or death-threatening situations...and then we start to count our blessings.
Ronan Keating's song "If Tomorrow Never Comes" actually gives us an insight into this scenario...to think that today may be our last and to focus on what we should do to live today to the best...in his song, he actually voiced that we should tell the person we love that we love them...or to specific, that special someone because we may not live to tell them tomorrow. I like the pace of the song...and I've heard a dedication on the radio once; where a guy called and told the DJ that he's stuck in a traffic jam on his way home and he wants to dedicate this song to his wife waiting for him at home with the message that he's thinking of her and that he loves her very much. When I heard of the dedication, I was a little taken aback as this song does not sound appropriate to be dedicated to a wife waiting at home....somehow it just seems that he's conveying the message to his wife that he may not make it....a death will somehow to me:P Freaky but to think beneath it all, he just wants the wife to know that he loves her very much and he just wants her to know that fact.
Now this song replayed in my head....and it just hit me..not the lyrics, but the title...and now we could actually come to terms with the song that different individuals can have different interpretation/perspective revolving a single song. The reason the song title relate to me today is because I actually survived an accident...yeah, no kidding. I was driving to work this morning and it was raining...the road was pretty wet. I assure you that I was not speeding or anything like that..in fact, I would say I drove at a pretty reasonable speed and kept to the highway codes for the speed limit. I reached a roundabout and that was where it happened. I passed the first part of the roundabout; the first traffic light, then as I approached the second traffic light, there was this metallic brown Wira which was also driving in the middle lane while I was in the left. I drove past him and all of a sudden, I felt my car being pushed and then my car just spun. I hit on the brakes and gripped my steering. My car halted to a stop. I was stunned for a second and I drove my car to the side of the road, got down and examined my car while the other car stopped at the other turning of the roundabout. A kind Samaritan on a motorcycle, or actually a pakcik, stopped by and enquired about my condition, telling me that I was pretty lucky to be unhurt. At the same time, I was thankful that my car was also unhurt and everything was fine. The other drive, also another Malay pakcik(a govt servant I think, judging from his dressing), came over to check on me and he was also relieved to see that I was unhurt and my car was in a good condition.
After further assurance/examination that my baby(car) is fine, I got into the car and drove towards my destination. As I was driving, it suddenly hit me that I was really very lucky...to be alive....it may be a minor spin but thank God, there were no oncoming cars, otherwise, only God knows what may become of me right now. I could have hit the railing or go off the road and may just.....die on the spot....freaky but a realistic possibility. Then I also recalled how calm and collected I was at the time, funny now that I think of it...I was in fact TOO calm, somehow I don't seem to realize what has happened....in such a daze that I just make it seem like it's some kind of routine to just get down and check on my car...it never occurred to me that I was actually in an accident!!!~~ Man, this thought is really scary....but come to think of it in an optimistic manner, I am actually steady in handling this and yeah, God gave me a second chance. He was there....I believed that GOD was the one who shielded me from any harm and also my car...I believe HE was there.....that's why there were no major injuries and no oncoming cars...HE protected me:)
Anyhow, I realized that there are many people out there who truly cared about me and loved me for who I am....and I also realized that I have many people around me whom I should cherish and yeah, what if tomorrow never comes? And as Chicken Little says, Today is a brand new day...never thought I would actually use this phrase in deep meaning after watching the movie and using it for motivation. Now the meaning tilts slightly to...yeah, It's a really brand NEW day for me....I am given new life.....and I feel that we should always live our life to the fullest and live everyday like it's the last that we do not have any regrets by the end of the day;)
Tell your loved ones that you love them....Communicate with people....do not suppress your feelings to your inner self..life is too short to let opportunities pass by...so, live once again and be ALIVE!!!!
So, Carpe Diem and enjoy your life!!:D

The Maid

Hmmm....watched some movies lately but one which I would particularly like to mention is of an Asian flavour...a Singaporean production.
The Maid is set in modern day Singapore and takes place during the seventh month of the Lunar Calendar, also popularly known as the Festival of the Hungry Ghost(will elaborate in my next entry). The story centers on a family which delves in the opera showbiz and they are hiring a Filipino maid, Rosa. Rosa is young and naive, having to leave her family for the sake of financial pursuit and a sick young brother whom she loves very much. Her employers seem kind to her and accepted her as part of the family. She even gets on very well with their only son, a mentally-retarded guy, Ah Soon.
Rosa was taught of all the superstitions of the seventh month and also prohibited from all the taboos. She was reprimanded when she tried to sweep away the ashes of the burnt hell money from the front compound of the house by her mistress. Then, she starts to have visions of the underworld as she begins to sight the wandering spirits. She gets the scare of her life and her employers was concerned and assured her that they will handle her problem. Soon, she starts to feel a presence in the household as well and she saw the ghost in her room and on the cupboard. At the same time, Ah Soon is getting more affectionate towards her. She starts to have nightmares and it was after that she starts finding things which have the name of "Esther" attached to them and starts to question her employers. Furthermore, she notices another foreign maid across the street who gives her weird looks and stays away from her.
After getting enough of the scares; one including a small boy who died in an accident in front of the house and appearing to scare her to get him his ball, she decided enough was enough and approached the foreign maid and her employers and starts investigating about the mysterious member, Esther whom she suspects was the former maid in the household. The neighbour's maid, Wati was still apprehensive on talking to her and gave her a look of fear when she mentioned Esther's name and told her to question her own employers. Puzzled, Rosa tries to find out and is still very much bothered by the hauntings of the ghost in the household. Her mistress then told her about Esther who was their former maid who was ungrateful and eloped with another foreign guy. Wati denied the story saying that Esther was a decent and good girl who just disappeared without a trace. Rosa and Wati became friends, but not for long when Wati was possessed by the spirit of a girl whose funeral procession passed her. (The driver mentioned that the shadow of the coffin which befalls anyone could bring bad luck to the person; so he needs to drive to the cemetery before the sun's position is on the other side) Wati was the unlucky one whom the shadow casted upon from the position of the sun and she went berserk; Rosa chasing after her and witnessed in horror as she jumped to her death from the food court on top of a complex.
Then she also starts hearing voices in the costume room of the house and she finds herself drawn nearer to a drum. She tears open the drum and finds a burnt decomposed body. Then she yelled at her employers saying that she knew what happened to Esther and they were solemn until she ran to the door, threatening to tell the police. Next she found herself tied up and gagged; dressed in the qipao (bridal gown for Chinese) and was at the altar. She saw her own picture and that of Ah Soon with all the decorations ready for a Chinese wedding to take place....hahaha...should i reveal that much to spoil the story for you guys?:P
Anyway, her perverted employers were trying to arrange an astral marriage for their son who died a year ago...yes, their Ah Soon. Apparently, he was very close to the former maid, Esther and he was so fond of her that he raped her while they were playing together(kinda absurd for a mentally retarded guy with the IQ of a child to be capable of such indecency...anyway, they mentioned that he is anyhow still a guy) and Esther wanted to lodge a police report. Her employer stopped her and he tied her up and burnt her to death, at the same time suffocating her with the bridal veil covering her face. Then he sealed her body in the drum. Ah Soon was upset over Esther's death and he committed suicide as well...which means all the while, the Ah Soon Rosa has been with was a ghost!!! The restless spirit of Esther, on the other hand has been trying to communicate with Rosa and now they are trying to bring the employers to justice. They want to hang Rosa to death at the auspicious hour for the marriage, who refused and they tried to make her say yes by promising to support her brother's medical fees back in the Philippines...then Ah Soon tried to stop them and his father caught fire, and burnt to death..actually Esther contributed to that. Before he died, he still demanded his wife to hang Rosa who escaped and her mistress rushed after her with a knife out to the road where she got hit by an oncoming lorry.
That was the tragic end of the whole family. As for Rosa, she returned to the Philippines with the grateful soul of Esther in her urn. At the airport we can see the three souls of the family standing and looking at them. Then another story starts about another girl having to leave her homeland to pursue a job in Singapore...

Pretty much the story is Asian-like and quite original, a little different from all those genre of the Ring. They depicted the reality quite well...with a few scares of sudden appearances and centering on the sound effects. I think it's worth a watch....so, do enjoy the movie!~

Graduation Blues

Hihi,
It's been more than a month since my last entry and I have been pretty occupied with the happenings. Working now....pretty busy with meetings and stuffs related to work which explains the reason behind my idle updates..haha.
I've graduated last month....and yeayyy...convo was great fun!!;) Hip and happening...it was just so cool to meet all my friends and coursemates and yeah, I do feel proud of my university...kinda felt "patriotic" towards my uni that I sang the theme song ever so loudly.
The above pics are the scenario of the convo; on the below left is the set up of the stage a day before the actual convocation and on the below right, was the snapshot during my session of the convocation. Yep, my university divided all the faculties into different sessions to accommodate the massive number of students and parents and relatives into the hall during the hounourable ceremony;)
Those on the stage were the academic staff; along with our respected Chancellor in the middle:D
A pretty solemn but memorable ceremony which ended on a happy note;)
Thanks to everyone...and let's keep in touch ya!

Misleading Track

The last post was about me on the right track about the dumpling festival and here I am, talking about a "Misleading Track"? hehehe.....this blogger must have gone out of her mind:p
Actually, what I am talking about here is the TVB series, Misleading Track, starring Bowie Lam, Louisa So and Deric Wan. Just finished watching it and I find it quite alright, in fact, better than what I have expected although I must say I watched it without any expectations...kinda bored and just wanted to watch something.
Frankly speaking, it wasn't exactly those type of series which would look sooooooo appealing at first glance due to the dull colours of the cover and also, the actors seem to have some kinda bored expressions on their faces which make it all seem so boring. However, I find that it was quite alright and definitely not too draggy in the pace of the show. Although I was kinda taken aback at the early revelation of the truth of the story, but it led to the guessing path of the more evil deeds the antagonist may have in mind.
Okay, before you start screaming at what I am talking about, basically the story centers on Louisa who plays Yan Teng aka Yen in the series who was unjustly imprisoned for about 5 years in Taiwan for murdering her husband, Lau Kai Chung (Deric Wan). Upon release, she went back to Hong Kong and sought shelter at her cell mate's house, Sister Kam aka Kam Jie. She did not dare to go back to her family as she has cheated her mum of her savings and deprived her brother of owning his own car workshop in the past for the sake of helping her husband and then flew off to Taiwan with him, while her own family disowns her.
Coincidentally, she ran into Bowie who was her mum's lawyer and then Bowie plays an important role in mending their family relationships. Bowie seems like a perfect man who has it all, a great career in law, a loving wife and an adorable daughter along with a gentle and understanding mum. However, as the series later reveals, he lost it all and was forced into a bitter and vengeful character, to Yen's surprise, as he discovered that his daughter was in fact his best friend's biological daughter and his wife only married him to spite her ex-lover who left her to pursue his studies. At the same time, his best friend tried to separate him and his wife and created hell for him in his career. All went bleak and then Bowie struck back, going into the corporate world upon losing his lawyer's licence and used evil means to get back at those who harmed him.
I shouldn't reveal too much as it may spoil it for those who have yet to watch the series, but the unique point in this series is that it really spins the harsh realities in life that beneath surface perfection, there's also lurking danger and that a good person with patience has their limits and also, the ongoing friendship between the two leads may have led you into believing that they will definitely fall for each other, as in the typical TVB formulas..but amazingly, it turned out otherwise. Definitely an interesting series which is different from the normal series and if you watch it without any expectations, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the flow and the results of the way the series turned out;)

I've also finished watching 'Lost in the Chamber of Love', starring Myolie Wu, Ron Ng and Michelle Yip and I must say that it was also quite an engaging series..which I may talk about some other time;)
Currently watching Split Second.....hmmmm...will reveal the plot another time although I must say the plot's starting to wear out for a supposedly exciting police story....hehe

Happy Dumpling Festival!!

Hehe...just on the right track...recently posted on the dumplings sold in Penang and now is the time for an official festival period, which is celebrated each year on the 5th day of the 5th month in the lunar calendar...yeah, none other than the famous 'Dumpling Festival' or more familiarly known as the 'Tuen Ng' among the local chinese folk.
I guess most of the websites, papers and blogs have gone into details on how this festival came about and pretty interesting to read about it in case you are still in the dark on the origins of the much-celebrated occasion. At the same time, another interesting bit is that in Penang, it is also the time of the Dragonboat festival if I'm not mistaken, or so I heard from some of my friends who are Penangites...correct me if I am wrong.
Alright, facts aside, wish everyone a Happy Dumpling Festival which will be two days from now...enjoy your feast;)

P.S: I am not a fan of dumplings at all...hahaha...in fact, I do not know why, I dislike most of the festive food and I just dote on the uniqueness and cultural origins of the festival...I know, that's the odd me..but hey, everyone is different, right:p

A1 Bak Chang

A view of the stall from the front. This is the stall which is famous in Penang for its "bak chang" and has been featured on Astro before. Located in Burmah Road, this stall is the "A1 Bak Chang" which I would like to introduce to you guys out there. Their business hours are from 2.30pm-10.30p.m. everyday and is closed during the weekend. Of course, due to their popularity, their business is booming even on an everyday basis where their products are selling like hot cakes...which is literally true, as they steam their "chang" in the steamers. Thus, needless to say, during the "Tuen Ng" festival, which falls on the 5th day of the 5th month in the Lunar calendar, is the "bak chang" festival, customers need to place their orders for the highly demanded "chang" at least a fortnight ahead. So, if you happen to go to Penang, do not forget to pay this particular stall a visit;)

The stall is famous for its "bak chang" and all the food items even on normal days. This is the menu at the van and also the price list. The stall just opened at the time we arrived.

Old shops

Used to be a coffeeshop as well, those typical cowboy-bar-type with those mini doors where you push them in. Now, in its place is a pawn shop

Famous Penang Road Teochew Cendol

This is the Famous Penang Road Teochew Cendol, if you go to Penang, you'd should pay this stall a visit, located somewhere in an alley around Penang road. For more information about this cendol, go to their website here: http://www.penangnet.com/chendul/ (yeah, they have a website too:)

True to its name and reputation, there were a lot of people patronising the stall. At the same time, this hot weather is enough to get anyone running to grab something cool8-) Yeah...even when they need to stand under the crammed and shaded stall...

Of course, we ordered the famous cendol and it was cool and refreshing for the hot weather:)
About its quality, judging from the pictures above of the stall, need I say more?:p

This is a bowl of Assam Laksa ordered from one of the hawkers in the shop. We wanted to order the popiah and lobak which is also in the shop but unfortunately, the stall was closed for that particular day. Sighh...
The assam laksa is truly good...there were a lot of tourists in the particular coffee shop as well, I kinda forgot the name of the shop but it's located just next to the famous cendol stall...along Penang Road..I suppose it's kinda hard to miss it;) As I was saying, there were a lot of tourists, especially from Singapore and they all ordered the laksa as well...I must say the aroma from this bowl of laksa is alluring to everyone, so just give it a try the next time you are there:)

My first May post??

Phew...it's been about a month since my last post and sorry to say that I've been a lil' occupied with my vacation...hehehe...and sightseeing activities.Well, holiday is just the time for a little getaway and also relaxation, right?
Anyway, it's time I post some of the pics taken....hahaha....those of last month's trip to the Pearl of the Orient, Penang and hope you guys will all enjoy......and savour the pics of the food:P

Hahahaa...I am now posting some pics of a carnival in Putrajaya which was about a month ago...but as I've been pretty busy for the past month, it kinda explains the late posting...doesn't it..hehehe:P I was early....this is a pic of the hawkers setting up their stalls

Last Day.....

Ahaaa.....managed to squeeze in an entry before the end of the month...been really idle this month...but I have loads of pics yet to be posted and also reviews of the series and books which I have taken advantage to watch and read during my hols.Hmmmmm...I'm starting to feel bored and a little rusty sitting and lazing around at home doing nothing but reading and watching tv and wandering around wondering what to do....sighhhh!~
Gonna buck up and look for a job soon before I actually start to rot:p
I have also read the 5th book of Harry Potter series....interesting but a little disappointing as well in its twist...let's hope the next episode will be better.
I'm gonna go out to watch a movie later....hehehe.....but anyway,I am looking forward to work on my blog....been really empty for the month of April....hope this will not be so when I enter my working life....hahahaha:)
Alright, this entry is basically crapping all the way....but just as a reminder that the blog is still alive and will go on.....:D

Long time no-post

Man....it has been ages since I have last posted in my blog.....more than a month....dreadfully sorry for the sudden evaporation from the blogging zone. I was pretty occupied with my Final Year Project and all the dealines were rushing like huge waves towards my schedule.....suffocating really..sigh! Then there were the FINAL final examinations...hahaha....the double finals are due to the fact that it is truly the Final exams I will be sitting for in my Final year....:D
Furthermore, there were a lot of rushing here and there.....boy, am I glad that all this is finally over....and yeah, don't be jealous....I am finally on my long-awaited break....muahahaha......no envy needed....I think I do deserve the break after such an exhaustive period.Been reading....hahaha...you'd think I would be staying away from reading materials after so many years of education and after such a busy period of finals preparation....but no,remember, I have told you before that I am one great and loyal fan of books....they are my best friends....all-weather withstanding friends of mine;)
I've also been on a short trip to the Pearl of the Orient....Penang.....about 2-3 days...it was really cool....wished I could stay longer.....the FOOD is amazing....loved them so much and also went around the island...hahaha....nono, I am not a first-timer to this island....in fact, it has always been the destination to go to for holidays since I was born. Reason? My maternal family members are all PRs(permanent residents) of this beautiful island. I used to dislike going back, as in "balik-kampung"...but as of now,or as I grew older, my brother and I look forward to go to Penang for sight-seeing and photography and also the FOOD of course!!! If you go to Penang without tasting the food.....then there is no point at all....frankly speaking, useless even:P If you are on a diet or watching your waistline, cross out this place as your vacation destination...hahaha:P
I have snapped some pictures of the FOOD and the places we have gone through.....which will be posted soon...so be patient:)

L.O.V.E

Getting a little sentimental...hahaha....anyway, this is a bit on LOVE...meaningful:)

When you think of your past love, you may view it as a failure.
But when you find a new love, you view the past as a teacher.

In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who won or who lost.
What is important is you know when to hold on and when to let go!
You know you really love someone when you want him or her to be happy, even if their happiness means that you're not part of it.
Everything happens for the best.If the person you love doesn't love you back, don't be afraid to love someone else again, for you'll never know unless you give it a try. You'll never love a person you love unless you risk for love.
Loves strikes in hurting. If you don't get hurt, you don't learn how to love. Love doesn't hurt all the time. Though the hurting is stil there to test you, to help you grow.

Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's called falling in love because you don't force yourself to fall. You just fall.
You cannot finish a book without closing it's chapters. If you want to go on, then you have to leave the past as you turn the pages.
Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won bya single caress. It is a lifetime venture in which we are always learning, discovering and growing.
The greatest irony of love is letting go when you need to hold on and holding on when you need to let go.We lose someone we love only when we are destined to find someone else who can love us even more than we can love ourselves.
On falling out of love, take some time to heal and then get back on the horse.
But don't ever make the same mistake of riding the same one that threw you thef irst time.
To love is to risk rejection, to live is to risk dying,to hope is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is risk nothing! To reach for another is to risk involvement, to expose your feelings is to expose true self, to love is to risk not to be loved in return.
How to define love: fall but not stumble, be constant but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understandand try not to demand, hurt but never keep the pain.
Love is like a knife. It can stab the heart or it cancarve wonderful images into the soul that alwayslast for a lifetime.
Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes the things that give you joy can also hurt you in the end.
Loving people means giving them the freedom who they choose to be and where they choose tobe.
Loving someone means giving him the freedom to find his way, whether it leads towards you or away from you.
Love is a painful risk to take but the risk must be taken no matter how scary or painful, for only then you'll experience the fullness of humanity and that is love.
Only love can hurt your heart, fill you with desire and tear you apart. Only love can make you cry and only love knows why. If you're not ready to cry,if you're not ready to take the risk, if you're not ready to feel the pain, then you're not ready to fallin love.
There was a time in our lives when we became afraid to fall in love coz every time we do,we get hurt, then i figured that's why it's called falling in love.Whatever happens, don't give up! It is just a trial.
After all God will not give you trial that you can't tackle.
Have faith in yourself and cheer up.
When you decide to love, allow it to grow. When you promise to love, refuse it to die!

Words women use....and the REAL meaning

Haha...this is a little "dictionary" for the guys....the meaning of the words women use in their speech;)

>FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

>FIVE MINUTES
If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

> NOTHING
This is the calm before the storm. This means "something," and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'Nothing' usually end in "Fine"

>GO AHEAD
This is a dare, not permission. Don't do it.

>LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over

>THAT'S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

>THANKS A woman is thanking you. Do not question it or faint. Just say you're welcome.

A Lil' something about guys and gals..

Well..taking a break from food...one of my friends posted this on my bulletin board which I found to be pretty interesting...so,this is a little something about both genders for you guys to all chew on:

When a GUY is quiet, He is totally sored.
When a GIRL is quiet,Millions of things are running in her mind.

When a GUY is not arguing, He loves you lot and would rather let you scold.
When a GIRL is not arguing,She is thinking deeply.

When a GUY looks at u with eyes full of questions, He is trying really hard to understand you.
When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions,She is wondering how long you will be around.

When a GUY answers "I'm fine" after a few seconds, He has a million things to tell you but its not the right time.
When a GIRL answers "i'm fine" after a few seconds,She is not at all fine.

When a GUY stares at you, He is thinking just how lucky is he to have you.
When a GIRL stares at you,She is wondering why you are lying.

When a GUY lays on your chest, Erm, well go figure out yourself.
When a GIRL lays on your chest,She is wishing for you to be hers forever.

When a GUY calls you everyday, He wants to make sure you're ok.
When a GIRL calls you everyday,She is seeking for your attention.

When a GUY wants to see you everyday, He wants to show how much he loves you.
When a GIRL wants to see you everyday,She wants to be pampered.

When a GIRL sms to u everyday,She wants you to reply at least once.
When a GUY sms to u everyday, He is reminding you how much he loves you.

When a GUY says I love you, Depends in the occasion.
When a GIRL says I love you,She means it.

When a GUY says that he can't livewithout you, He is DESPERATE
When a GIRL says that she can't live without you,She has made up her mind that you are her future.

When a GUY says "I miss you", Hes secretly telling you're beautiful.
When a GIRL says "i miss you",No one in this world can miss you more than that

Ma Lai Gou

Yeah...as the name above says it...in Cantonese that is...in English, the literal translation is basically Malay Kueh.Upon hearing the name, one may immediately concoct the connection between the Malays and the kueh....thinking this is the origin of the kueh. However, sadly, this is not the case...although named as Malay kueh..you'd be surprised to learn that this kueh is a popular rendition in Hong Kong, where it came from and not from Malaysia...how it gets its name....don't ask me...but there was a theory that they relate the colour of the kueh to the race...no form of discrimination here....please do not be offended...I did not name the kueh:)
It is something like the fluffy rice cake the other time....only it is more fragrant..I think there's more eggs in its making....and also, it is often ordered as side-dish during dim sum hours in the restaurants in Hong Kong. It's also getting fairly popular here in Malaysia....and it's not only sold in dim sum restaurants, but also at stalls selling kuehs...coincidentally, mum bought this from a stall like this at the market:D

The side view of the kueh.....looks nice, doesn't it?:)

Kuehs

Yeah...I've been posting so much today...hehehe....probably becoz I wanted to share with you guys on the pictures I've taken..over the weekend and also some over the past week....besides, I'm blogging as well as doing my reports...so not exactly taking that much of a time....multitasking,yeah!;)
This pics are actually of kueh...a traditional kueh,"ang koo"...not sure of its English name...but for my own understanding, I'd call it the red glutinous rice cake.....below is the green version...it's actually pandan....and fresh from the market..courtesy of mom's purchase:)
**Oh ya...please forgive me for the blurry image below....bad picture:(

The green version of "ang koo"...or called the "cheh koo" in Hokkien which literally means green tortoise...haha....I dunno the exact name for it....but it's a traditional kueh and the outer part is made of glutinous rice...and it is usually filled with green bean paste...kinda sticky type of kueh but definitely a legacy among the kueh....most of the kids have tried it before....grew up with this kueh...for kids of my time and also our grandparents' time. Not too sure about kids these days....hehehe....guess they know more about pizzas and pancakes and burgers+fries than these traditional kueh

"Pou-pou Gou Sing"

"Pu pu Gao Sh'ng"(in Mandarin) which literally means advancing towards a better future....that's the reason or deep meaning behind the nian gao(aka the glutinuous rice cakes) and also why it is regarded as auspicious and a must have for all families during CNY. It used to be available only during the festive season....but I think nowadays, one can easily find it in supermarkets and stores....only difference is, it comes in abundance and more attractive packages during the festive occasion.
There is also the story of the origin of this rice cakes.....as the story goes, which was told by my grandma...in each house, there's a Kitchen God who guards over the kitchen. Each year, the Kitchen Gods will have to travel to Heaven and give a yearly report to the Jade Emperor before passing on his task to the new Kitchen God. Therefore, the household residents, to ensure that their Kitchen God provide a good report to the Jade Emperor on their household condition, will prepare these glutinuous rice-cakes, and made them as sticky as possible and offer them to the Kitchen God for consumption, hoping that the sticky stuff will sort of seal his mouth after consuming it...since it is so sticky. That's what I remember from the story told....I have heard of other tales related to its origin as well.....maybe I will share them when I recall.
Anyway, whatever it may be, this auspicious has never fail to make its way to everyone's household or mouth everytime the festive occasion is around.....everyone loves it!Hehehe....Mum decided to consume it while it is fresh and since she has had the deep-fried nian gao the other day,she wants to consume it the simple way...to steam it and then coat it with coconut sultry.....
The following pics depict the snapshots of the process of preparing them...

4 pretty and auspicious glutinuous rice-cakes...or "nian-gao"....sitting on the plates...before they are to be consumed:D

Local fruits galore....

This weekend, mum bought some local fruits....coz they were quite abundant and fresh in the market...furthermore,it is good to consume more fruits in this hot weather for the purpose of water retention in the body. At the same time,do remember to drink plenty of water....somehow,it's a lot hotter here back home than when I was in my campus....I still feel so thirsty and dehydrated despite the amount of water which gushed down my throat.
Back to the fruits issue.....the following are the fruits which were purchased....all local fruits;) Supporting local Malaysian fruits....ain't that patriotic:P Besides,I came across an article...in the papers, I think, which talked about fruits and highlighted the issue that our local fruits are far more nutritious than imported fruits...in fact, most of our very own crops boasts of higher content of vitamins than foreign fruits. Such was the statement....since more and more people actually prefer imported fruits such as kiwi, grapes, pears, etc to cheap and good ol' bananas, papayas, watermelons, mangosteens...which are actually more cost-effective and diet-effective.
Well, isn't that something we should all ponder upon, folks?;)
Now,these are the fruits for your eyes only...LOL:P

Local fruits......first in line to be introduced is the good ol' starfruit(buah belimbing). Mum bought this fresh from the market....according to the seller, these are fresh and also best consumed as soon as possible due to the hot weather. Definitely a nutritious fruit as well...renowned for its nutrients in Vitamin C...its juice is also tasty as well;)

The starry shapes of good ol' starfruits....haha....mum says that we should cut it this way....so that we'll know that we are actually eating starfruit...LOL:P

Of flowers,plants and pot...

Despite my busy schedule,I took advantage of those little free time-out seconds to snap some pictures of plants and to post them on my blogs....not much pictures though....as I've mentioned..it was just a short "time-out":p
Anyway, the sun was also kinda blazing hot at that time...and thus it was kinda hard for me to focus...I can't stand the sunlight...:P I tried to capture some of those which are located in the shady areas...and as for some of those which are under the sun...well,maybe next time....however, I also noticed some of the plants which are exposed to the sun, looks kinda "photogenic" when captured...hmmmm...visual effects definitely add a tad of highlight to the pics, don't you think so?
The following are the pics that I've captured...not much....and I'm also not too sure of their actual names...will try to look them up after my busy schedule...hehe..for the time being,I will name them according to my very own naming standards..so do bear with me ya;)
Now, let's showcase some of my "plant models".......ready to catwalk..LOL....contestant No.1:-

So ,here, this is the baby version of the "prosperity flower"("fu gui hua")

Looks like some kinda spidey to me....well,let's just call it the "spider plant" until I get the actual and accurate scientific name;)

A type of Japanese fern..I think...which we got from a friend:)

Reports,reports and reports

Hey...back again for more musings:p Been busy...and STILL busy...but I do miss crapping on my blog and so,I need a space to say something before I totally burst my head off....staring at projects and paper reports everyday(although now we do technical reports...technically:P)
Yeah..was at home and actually took some time to relax a little amidst the busy schedule and actually took pictures of stuffs around...plants,flowers and yeah...FOOD too:D
As time would permit,I've actually less than a month to the end of my university years and then will be officially taking the plunge into the workforce. That's why you can see the hectic lifestyle I'm leading right now....no time for TV,etc...*sob *sob:(( But yet,I have time for taking pics and crapping here....haha...well,I need some time off anyway and writing plus photography are my interests...and blogging is indeed fun;)
Currently rushing myself to wits' end with 3 major reports which will be due in less than a weeks' time and also an individual assignment which, I've programmed the whole thing and yet,the system runs only the initial part....arrrghhhh..so frustrating...and I've to halt the whole assignment for ONLY this part which I still have to debug....oh no,please save me!!!I pray it will work pretty soon because my schedule is killing me already:(( In fact, I've to keep track of lots more deadlines and also meetings with my groupmates and also my FYP supervisor...all within this week...isn't that enough to kill someone??:(
Definitely not that "up" and cheery this week....hehehe....but nevertheless, I'll do my very best and leave everything to God...after all, nothing is impossible, right?;)

Flying Daggers....

Yeah...I watched an old Chinese movie shown on TV on Saturday night.....after a hearty dinner....ooohh..remind me to put up the pics...coz there were an array of nice dishes..haha:) While enjoying those cold refreshing desserts(mum made some cold drinks), I watched the Chinese movie...set in the ancient times...and also it was a comedy-like drama.
Turns out it was an old movie which I caught a glimpse of a few years back and never get to watch it...and now, they are showing it again...yeay!Kinda star-studded....with all the talented and funny actors in the show...boasting big names such as Tony Leung Kar Fai, Jacky Cheung,Jimmy Lin,Maggie Cheung Man Yuk,Gloria Yip Wan Yee(the petite gal is MIA from the entertainment industry now), Sharla Cheung Man, Ng Man Tat......hahaha....guess from the case itself, you can expect lots of drama and hilarious scenes. It was pretty entertaining....do not take into account of all those serious and logical sequences....focus more on the sword-fighting parts and also the minor love-story plots taking place in the movie.Pretty interesting.....mainly coz I like those actors in the movie as well....:)
Recommended for a light rendition of heart-warming and family happy hour.....and enjoy those antics of the actors....ooohhh...and recollect the memories of them during their youth in this movie;)

Those Lazy Hazy Days...

Heat...humidity...topped with the clouded and blurry view of scenery around you.....just,well, makes one really lazy. The temperature was really burning man....for the past week and at the same time, the haze, yep,it's back...due to the forest fires everywhere in the country. The alarming thought was that these peat fires are not easily extinguishable....and kudos to those dedicated but poor firemen, whom I read in the news, have to actually risk their lives to bear the heat in the burning forests....furthermore,they have to even watch their steps, while putting out the fires and at the same time, keeping their balance on those steep forest paths.Makes one totally salute the professionalism of these people as they strive for the benefit of everyone...my humble respects to them!!
Cloud seeding was expected to commence soon.....but,voila, the grace of God has turned the table around....there was a spell of continuous rain on Saturday night and the visibility actually changed for the better on the following day....in fact, thanks to God, the rain/monsoon season seems to have hit it off since that rain epitome on Saturday and now, almost everyday, it rains sometime between the afternoons and evenings...bringing the earth to cool:) In fact, it feels so cold sometimes...especially after I've had a series of classes in the uni's super duper cold lecture halls and tutorial labs....haha...
Loved the rain season.....hope it'll go on and on...although it may be get cold sometimes...but it's still better than being in an overheated oven every minute of the day....as a friend of mine once said, "Rain are more dreary and romantic".....;)

Cinderella...Cindereally?

Weee.....I've just noticed that my blogging haven has turned into more of a food blog...haha....anyway,to keep a still balance between the postings...I should also include other stuffs as well in this blog...after all, life is not all about eating, right?;)
Okay,I've recently watched A Cinderella Story....yeah,some may say..."Awww...not again..those corny teen tales:P"...perhaps they ARE corny, but somehow,I've always had a liking to teen stories/movies..they are cool in some kinda way sometimes:) Back to Cinderella, I'd have to admit the storyline is a little cheesy....to the fact that the Cindereally dropped her cell phone???My my...goes to show how technology has evaded the Grimm's brothers' fairy tale once upon a time. However, I personally find the story rather undeveloped and a waste of some good talents here...such as Chad Michael Murray(I'm not too sure about Hilary Duff....first time seeing her in movies). At the same time, most of the actors or actresses have the tendency to overact...especially the 2 awful stepsisters....I think the potrayal went way overboard....even Disney has the modesty to keep their so-out-of-the-world to a minimum interest of amusement..sighhh
Furthermore, the sisters are supposed to be twins...I think that whole part kinda spoiled the storyline....even the stepmother's part was a little ridiculous...I mean, what kind of mother who lets her daughters wear sill outfits like "Siamese cats" to a dance? That certainly was not amusing...in fact,I find that whole part a degrading of the viewers' intelligence!!
Overall....there is a tad of new twist....I'd say the prologue part(when Cinderella was young)...was appealing....I was looking forward to a developed story...but I'm really disappointed. Even the doe-eyed Hilary and Chad could not save this movie from a disaster. Ooh ya...credits must be given to the lady who helped Sam(Hilary) a lot in the diner,Ronda...she's rather natural and a skeptical woman...i must say she's the only one who can act. As for the rest, I have no comments......I rest my case....(ooo...did I mention the step sisters, the stuck-up girl(Shelby or sth) and Sam's friend,Carter?.....)
That's my review..no offense meant to the fans out there...it's just in my humble opinion,if you do like it,well, that's your preference....my theory applies only to myself...after all, one man's meat is another man's poison.
That's about it for my own movie review....will try to write up another review....I do not watch movies/TV that often when I'm in a semester...I usually watch them during my breaks....so,I'm not "so-updated" on movies sometimes...hehehe...so do bear with me ya!Have a nice day and keep your cell phones intact!!;)

Adorable and Fluffy Rice-cakes

Fluffy rice-cakes(aka "huat-kueh" or "Fat Kou")...these are so fresh...bought from the market early in the morning by my dutiful dad:) Since it was the 15th day of the month(Chap Goh Meh)...these are exceptionally fresh and really selling like hot cakes..well,they are in fact,cakes..hahaha....anyway,these cakes, according to mum, are popular and are definitely in the market every 1st and 15th day of the month for the prayer offerings especially among the Buddhists and Taoists. It's also sort of a vegetarian cake and can be consumed by vegetarians. We are not using it for any form of worship...just for Mom's breakfast:D

Cool Kumquat!!:)

Kumquat....quaint and cute...a mini version of mandarin oranges I suppose..although the seller told us this is a rare fruit...only once in a year, similarly to mandarin oranges, a CNY-type fruit.
Type of citrus fruit.....tastes really refreshing and leaves a lingering taste of lime-like and orange at the back of the throat after consumption.I'm definitely up for this fruit....sadly though,I'll only get to eat them the next year:( Awww..well.....there are still oranges to look forward to....:D

Deep-fried Nin Gou

Deep-fried glutinous rice cake...this is one way of consuming the rice cake..based on your liking...mum had a craving to have it the deep-fried style...no,she didn't do it..these were bought from the market....fresh from the oven..erm,I meant fresh from the wok:) There were originally 3 pieces....one was eaten by mum herself...she just loves this stuff!:)

Auspicious "Nin gou" (nian-gao)

Glutinous rice cake("nin-gou")- another auspicious must-have for CNY....can be eaten raw like this(soft or hard, depending on your preference), steamed with coconut servings or deep-fried

Vegetable Dish - Leeks

Leeks("suan" in Hokkien) - an auspicious 'must-have' vegetable dish for CNY in every family
This vegetable is something of a cross-between of spring onions and also onions...in my humble opinion;)

Chap Goh Meh!

Hey...
I know,Chinese New Year's officially over....the festive celebration period itself only....since we have already ushered and welcomed the year of the Rooster into our lives....we are in fact, in the year of the Rooster now....the New Year period...hahaha...my logic:)
Haven't done much of a posting for the past few days...been hot and also, been trying to keep up with some assignments and project rushing since I've been pretty laid back....and also kinda in the festive mood(*wink).
I was back for a reunion dinner on Chap Goh Meh(the 15th day of CNY in Hokkien) which also marks the last day of the festive celebration itself. Also known as "Yuan Xiao" which, in literal translation, according to some sources, means a finish to a cycle.....and also a union...some say that a reunion or gathering of family as on CNY's eve is also part of the tradition...I'm not too sure on this but nevertheless, a reunion is always great...(for me,at least!), so it doesn't matter whether it's pure tradition or not....as my dad always says: "A family that eats together stays together"....which I found to be true...you don't need to have festivals to eat together..you can meet and make an effort to have meals with your families everyday if you can make it..of course, unless you are working abroad or perhaps studying in another place away from home..that's inevitable.
Oh ya...I've taken some pics of the dishes mom cooked for the Chap Goh Meh dinner....gosh,I totally missed my dearest mom's cooking.....yeah,she hasn't cooked for a while...so,she decided to whip up a simple meal on the last day of CNY and we had a great fill....the pics are there to give you guys an insight on our "simple" family meal....hehehe

Relax-ing?

Well, after finishing 2 presentations yesterday, I started to feel a bit relaxed...though I'm aware that I've a midterm test next week and also tonnes of assignments and projects which will be due in less than a month...sighhhh!Taking it easy, I'll start to worry about that later.....(giggles)
Hmmm....I enjoyed my presentation yesterday, particularly the former one coz it ended up in a heated argument...too bad I do not have the pics...I enjoyed myself so much...brings back those old memories of my primary and high school days when I was involved in debates:D One thing though, my "partner-in-crime" was not present...that's my best friend, she's recently graduated...yeah,we are both taking different career paths in our lives and have been studying in different institutions for the past few years...nevertheless, our friendship remains strong;)
Now,I've been surfing the net recently for some interesting sites...and also food-related sites, amazingly,I've come across great food blogs which are so cool...they have such great pictures that is superbly appetizing..hahaha:P I'm kinda inspired by them as well......my blog will also include more of food stuffs...what I eat, apart from my normal musings of my daily life...hehehe,hope it sounds interesting to you guys out there:)
I'm currently in the midst of taking pics of the types of food...interesting food and perhaps some review once in a while.....and besides food, there will be stuffs on my favourite stuffs, such as books, movies, TV SERIES!!!(haven't had much time for them lately:(( ), sceneries(perhaps) and also some interesting articles and quotes which I may come across....I'll share them all:D
If any of you have anything interesting to share with me or would like to give suggestions, you are welcome anytime;)

Presentation Day....

Hey there,
Been a few days since I last posted....since I've been pretty busy and occupied with my preparations for the two presentations on Monday, which is today:P Lots of research work during the weekend and after which,I need to work on a report...thankfully though, one is a group report....and another is well, supposed to be a group project but since I worked on it alone, the report was done earlier than scheduled and have been submitted....hehehe....how about that:P
Now I'm still running my fingers through my presentation stuffs.....coordinate my thoughts(haha) and my points.....to ensure cohesiveness and the "right feel" later;)
Wish me luck and I'll post more later.....ciaoz!

Unpredictable weather...

I am back again....with yet another of my musing:P
The weather has been typically hot..and I mean extremely hot this new year...and on top of that,it is also humid....now that's so not tropical to me in this country. It is those days which makes you feel so heated up and at the same time, sticky even after a zillion baths...even a bath makes you feel hot..can you imagine that?:(
Well...I was trying so hard to concentrate on my studies..the subject which I told you earlier about....the midterm test is due tomorrow night and darn...I'm still kinda sleepy on the subject...I tried to concentrate and at the same time,it's impossible to absorb any sort of information...(crying out loud now:(( ) It was all the way an extremely hot afternoon..yeah,the hot spell again...nothing unusual...been like that a week before CNY...then about 4 something, dark clouds appeared...well, I did not pay much attention to it..roomie's also kinda busy with her assignment...then the thunder and lightning caught our attention...hahaha....amusing,if you ask me, that the sun turned into a "Day-after-tomorrow" wannabe atmosphere.....and then the rain started pouring...seriously....as we rushed to close the windows and bringing our clothes from the line, we could see that the wind was blowing so hard....the trees swayed vigorously and the rain...well,something like those "Twister" kind of movies....it's kind of a sudden metaphor of a weather. Nevertheless, I'm kinda happy with the downpour....(I love rainy seasons *wink*)...now it's much more cooler...hahaha....yep,we've opened the windows and my, the breeze is refreshing and makes you feel more at ease as compared to the humid afternoon...and WITHOUT any air...yikes...HOT,HOT,HOT everyday!
Proves that the weather is getting more and more unpredictable...who knows what will be next? One minute you see the blazing sun, next you see the clouds+rain+lightning+thunder......well, life is also as unpredicatable....as in the case of our country, who could ever predict natural disasters hitting a disaster-free country?Sighhh....seems to me that the weather is revolving and taking a turn out of its usual cycles....heard it happened in other places around the world too....perhaps due to the effects of over-development....:P
I know I need to get back to my studies now....sigh....pray that I can understand the concepts thoroughly before the test.....and I pray that I'll be more motivated..hahaha.....CNY mood..and holiday mood..I know I know...excuses:P
Till my next entry...cheers!~~

Welcome:)

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my personal blogspot.....whether you have been invited by me personally to view this blog or you chanced upon my site accidentally....you are welcome to stay:)
I finally decided to have this blog for my writing interests....hahaha....I love writing and somehow blogging seems pretty appealing to me. Right now, the weather is definitely hot and what I am doing...well, I have to study on a subject, Algorithm Analysis...yeah,those who are my coursemates,I am sure you do know the hell I've been going through...I don't understand the subject and the lectures definitely do not help at all....depressing though:((
Oh ya...by the way, A Happy Chinese New Rooster Year to all of you out there who celebrate the festive occasion....trying not to sound racist by just referring to the Chinese..LOL:P Today is already the 9th day of the Lunar New Year and what I know of is that today is the birthday of the Jade Emperor....I guess most of the Hokkien community around must have set up their altars last night to worship the Jade Emperor who rules over the heaven;) Plenty of goodies and also customs to be followed.....I used to see these worship preparations when I was way younger...and of course, there's always the late-night suppers get-together with all the relatives after the worship...yum yum, those food will be served...hahaha....a choice of noodles, porridge, roasted pork, duck, sometimes, we have chilli crabs.....and lots more....anyone can go gaga over these food......feeling hungry already?;;)
Those were the days....CNY has been more or less a routine...a customary tradition which we follow every year in its style of celebration..somehow, everyone still looks forward to celebrating the occasion...interesting....hahaha;)
I will update my next blog if I do not get too busy after this.....I've so much of assignments to work on and also presentations next week.....sad case....pray for me that I'll complete them smoothly..hehehe:)
Also, to all my friends who have 2 tests this week(heard they are killer papers!)...wishing you all the best....and also enjoy the remaining days of the 15-day CNY celebration...though there's nothing much to celebrate on campus...hahaha....see ya all....ciaoz!
