My department as well; was not excluded from this craze as we went into the full mode of color and mystique with the Masquerade Nite theme for this year's annual dinner.
Being a member and the PR for the organizing team, GPTW, this marks the 2nd year I am involved with the running of the show. Last year, I was the lady mistress of the ceremony (MC) but this year, it was a friend of mine who held the role:)
To add to the glamour and galore of the theme, the hotel selected was none other than the latest hotel in town; located in the scenic tourist spot in the island; G Hotel.
Decorations were done in a flamboyant manner; all to add to the good fun and excitement that awaits the entire department after a long year of slogging out; meeting the deadlines and delivering quality services (sounds like a promo tag now:p)
The stage was harmonious with the theme color of the hotel and also filled with the letterings and words to describe the event in progress.
Below the heading and the theme was the mysterious mask which was placed there (this was my idea:)
The reception or registration tables lined up; all ready to welcome the family for another glamourous yearly affair:)

The guests soon start turning up around 6.30p.m. as stated in the invitation cards
Guests were soon comfortably seated at their tables and were busy chattering around
It wasn't long before the event finally commenced with the dimming of the lights and the hush to silence the crowd for.....
The opening dance
Performed by our very own colleagues and committee members, it was a rendition of the Masquerade song in the Phantom of the Opera
Deserving a mention here is the effort taken by the dedicated members who actually spent after office hours with the practice and also the self-choreography
At the note of the "Why so Silent tune" from the Phantom, the dancers slowly descend the stage with their heads turned to welcome the asending of the two masters of the ceremonies as they make their fabulous twirling appearance
Opening ceremony
Now you see the purpose of the shadow; it was to complement the simple attachment of the colored mask to mark the official launch of the event.
Rather simple idea but sufficient for an opening ceremony:)
Following the opening ceremony and the speech by our department head, it was the cue for the feasting to begin
This was the glimpse of the food we took; to share among the committee members at our very own reserved tables:)
I had pretty bad gastric pains that night and my fellow friends really touched me with their concern as they all took turns to get food on my plate

The crowd was continuously entertained with the indoor performances, games and lucky draw throughout the night

Another memorable event for this year's annual dinner was also the coinciding with the 18th anniversary of the establishment of the department. Therefore, to commemorate this event, we prepared a birthday cake for the whole department to join in the celebration:D
A specially pre-ordered and designed cake for the meaningful celebration
A 5kg chocolate cake decorated with blue icing for the company's color and the letterings were in melted sugar. Definitely an eye-catching cake and I couldn't resist taking pictures of it!!:D

The beautiful moment was captured with the releasing of the balloons from the ceiling and everyone was definitely caught by delight and surprise.
