Bravo to another driver

Oh ya, on the topic of interesting drivers, I noticed some interesting driving behaviors on the road when I was stuck in the horrendous 3-hours traffic jam yesterday.

There was only one lane on the road and somehow some ingenious drivers managed to create an extra lane on the left, for whatever reason which we are all aware of (to jump queue!)

Anyway, in front of us was this Honda Civic; and the rude intruder on his left was a Toyota Altis which was rather persistent in and dangerously trying to work his way in.
On our side was a White Myvi which was attached to a driving school.

We enjoyed the little drama in front as the Honda Civic was rather defiant as well and refused to give way to the Altis which was seriously annoying and constantly try to ram his way in!

As we approached a narrower section (after slowly inching for what seemed like hours), I noticed the Honda's driver rolling down his passenger seat's window (which was next to the Altis driver's side.

What happened next caught me by surprise (it may not be surprising to some of you, I know, I am a little doe).
The Honda driver HONKED at the Altis driver and I think he showed some kind of bad sign or something and guess what, the Altis stayed by the side and allowed the Honda to move forward first.

WOWWWWWW, I mean, like really really WOW!
That was an amazing thing, and I have to say, this is one brave action I applaud!
It may be a little rude, but I didn't think the Altis had a lot of manners either if they do things like jumping queue!

I'd say, BRAVO to the Honda driver and to the Altis, it really a lesson to be learnt not to cut into the queue the next time there is a traffic jam.
It really doesn't make you a hero!

And the Myvi next to us, who badly wanted to shine as a hero, didn't get his way with us either as we didn't give way to him as well.
I just think that it's obnoxious and absolutely unacceptable that a driving institution sets horrid examples like these.

What is going to happen to our roads in the future? I dare not see...

It is NOT His fault....

Today I was driving back from town in the afternoon, heading home and I stopped at this traffic light at the main junction of Sg Dua (where N Park/Sunnyville is on your left and USM is on your right?)

The lights soon turned green for our lane and I was surprised to see that I am not able to move yet (the car in front did not move)
There was a honk and I noticed that the two cars in front of me; a Citra and a CRV moving out towards the right.
I followed pursuit and I noticed the main reason we are held back, a car put on the hazard lights and just stopped there.
I think it broke down or something.

Now, the astonishing part was this; this Citra honked at the car, and that's not enough. The driver rolled down his window and just rudely waved his arm at the broke down car, like the sign language of saying "What the hell"

I think otherwise, "What the h*** is wrong with this Citra driver?"

I mean, who asked to break down in the middle of the road?
Do you seriously think that the driver really enjoyed not being able to drive off when the light turned green?
It is enough that he had to endure and to figure out how to get his car out of there and fixed.

It is really NOT his fault!

Sometimes some people can just be so inconsiderate and insensitive....

THE Traffic Jam last night....

Here, I finally got these photos out from my phone....if you didn't believe me, look at the photos of the massive traffic jam on Penang island last night.
Image Hosted by PicturePush - Photo Sharing

The traffic jam which landed me 3 hours on the road, inching from one tiny weeny point to another and not close enough to hit the bumper of another car (thankfully)
I had a skilled driver next to me anyway ;)

The traffic jam which resulted in me having dinner at almost 9pm, and having to go to sleep later than usual because I had to digest the food!

This reminded me of the same traffic jam I got caught in at the Penang Bridge 4 years ago when there was this overturned truck/oil tanker on the bridge and I was stuck there for 4 hours!

Look at this, I am not on a new road; still the same old road, just that the car in front of me is not the one from the first picture because the poor frustrated driver made a quick U-turn to get out of this horrendous traffic predicament!

I seriously thought I was going to be stuck there like, forever (a bit exaggerated), but it really felt like that!

*Shudders at the thoughts of the traffic jam last night*

Thank God I got home before morning, right?

Scotch-ed Car

Spotted this car last weekend in the afternoon; driving around Penang town...
It was taped from the top of the car with Scotch tape; wondering what is it that the owner is trying to hold?

It is supposed to be a new car too...hmmm...LOL:D

Honked a Police Car

I left my Kulim office at a good time yesterday to avoid the traffic on the bridge and the whole journey was smooth.
Even the bridge was really clear when I arrived at the toll booths and keeping to the SmartTag lane on the right with all the cones to disintegrate this lane from the other lanes, I was breezing past until I reached the bridge and there was this black jeep which swerved itself into my lane (on its left is another car) and this black jeep just tried to swerve in without heeding the danger of banging my car.
Needless to say, I honked at the driver and turned to look at the driver or the car when I saw these words on the driver's door
"POLIS BANTUAN"

@_@...Oh NO!
I honked a Police car!!!:O (BIG O)

Anyway, he got in after that and kept to his left lane driving slowly and obediently behind the other cars.
I took down his number plate in case and even another car's number behind me in case of anything (you know, at least, I have an eye-witness)

Sighs.....I had to start the new year with a LOUD HONK...and at the country's law enforcer nevertheless....UGH!
Do pray for me...

What violation??

I am really furious with the security guards who pasted the sticker on the side of my car!!
ARRRRGGGGHHH!!
How could they do that???

I was happily parking my car in the parking area when I got to the office yesterday morning and after work, I was smiling as I made my way to my car despite the pouring rain and then, I stood dead in my tracks when I saw a STICKER on the side window of my back passenger door!!!
WHAT!!!
I removed the sticker immediately but the glue was totally stuck to the window pane!!!
Shoot the fella who did this to my car:(:(:(

I stood there for a few minutes, using my fingernails (my poor nails) to scratch it off and at the same time, worrying abt whether I scratched my car!

I didn't violate any parking rules!!!
Darn the security guards, and I still need to work hard to get that mark out!!
Shoot!!!!

Driving style: North vs South

Okay, the content may be offensive to either party but please just read this and pass it off as just a joke, no hard feelings ya!:D

As I have mentioned, I drove myself down back home all the way from north down south to my city hometown:)

On the road, I have noticed a few things which I find common among the drivers distinguished between those who hail from the north and south (particularly the W-plates).

You know the differences between the left and right lanes, don't you? I don't think I need to educate on the functionalities of left and right and your speed on both lanes...well, when I was heading down north, I will keep to my left most of the time since I do not intend to speed (well, at least not during the festive season where I may easily attract a RM300 donation to the police force!:p) .

Therefore, I was on the left lane most of the time and only turn on my signal to proceed to the right lane to overtake cars in front of me which were slower and then obediently, I would turn back to the left lane.

Well, this was the common practice and I noticed this was pretty evident among the motorists along the way particularly the southbound:)

Come Tuesday and I was heading northbound and the practice was still okay until...yes, until I approached the Penang Bridge area....haha, that's where I was hogged by slow drivers on both lanes!

Yea...and if you want to overtake any car, do so on your left especially here in this state:p

No offense ya...Not ALL Penang drivers are like that but well, I have met a couple, or 3, or 4.....:D:D

Close encounter!!

I was driving to work this morning and was exiting from the bridge to hit the BKE lane and turned on the right signal.
I looked at the rear mirror and everything...before making that turn.
Then suddenly, I saw this BIG bus behind me; really close....and I saw the headlights!!
I was like, Wow!Was he speeding or what?
I was totally freaked....how can I miss him??
Then as I proceeded along the way, I kept a close eye on the bus behind me...but I didn't see him within a short distance after that...and there were no turnings anywhere!! Hmmm....it's a highway....
I am wondering whether he slowed down tremendously or I must be dreaming of the bus:p

Morning Misters!

This morning I drove out of my condo heading to work and I was in line behind these 2 cars; a Getz and a Wira which was scanning their security access card.
(My condo provides us with a card...something like a Touch&Go type that you flash at the point and the bar will lift to allow your entry and exit from the premises).
Okay, so the first car, the Wira was so slow and he turned left.
Then the 2nd car, the Getz flashed his car and after his bar lifted, he drove out...and then it was my turn and when the bar lifted; I wanted to move out, but that Getz was just right there; undecided which direction he wanted to go; right or left (by right, it should be left since the right turn was against the traffic flow).
I had to flash the lights at him or else risk the barrier crashing on my car!!!

Oh bother!!!
Anyway, I proceeded with my left turn and drove until I caught up behind another car which was crawling; and I really mean crawling!!!
It was that first Wira.....
Oh my.....
I overtook him and drove on my way....

On the road to my company as well, I bumped into another car which was crawling and another bus which made the right signal and turn left....

Awwww....great start to a day....:(
Are they all awake??!!!
Hey...Good Morning Misters!! Please wake up when you are on the road!!!

New car on the tow, and I am driving behind his row

I was driving home after work yesterday(well, duh, common:p) and I hit the bridge at a good hour - at least I don't see any major crawl.
Anyway, while I was on the bridge; traffic was a little slow and I was traversing/breezing through some of the cars when I end up behind this metallic green Toyota Avanza.
Okay, Avanza is not like a new Batman gadget that is so amazing and I have never seen it before; so that's not the point of my story:p
What struck me was that this was a new car....yeah, brand new and obviously being sent over to the island to the customer with the number plate hung loosely at the rear of the car.
So, while I was trailing behind this car; putting on my brakes whenever necessary since the driver in front of me was definitely doing so and driving rather slowly...I start to think...haha, usual me, thinking all the time.
What came to my mind was kinda funny; I was just wondering; what happens if someone hits the rear of this car?
I mean, may not be me; but you know everything is prone to accidents and with the constant braking and trailing behind all the cars on the bridge/road, what happens if someone bangs into the rear of this car?

Common scenario is the drivers get down and negotiate and you know, settle it man to man.
But in this case; this is not the driver nor the owner of the car but the middleman assigned to send it over.
Don't you think it's gonna be kinda complicated?
Furthermore, how do you explain to the customer who is eagerly waiting for his new car?
"Erm...sorry, I just crashed your new car?" (and he hasn't even set his hands on it yet!)
Haha....just food for thought....
or a penny for my thought...so that I can be rich!:D
