The rain on Holy Thursday

On a short note, today is the blessed Passover Meal and also, in religious terms, Holy Thursday.

This is a very meaningful day for all Christians and also well-known to the public due to the famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci himself.

Yes, tonight is the night of the Last Supper and the night where Jesus is betrayed.

It is again a solemn event, and most of you know of this scene from the famous painting and of course, the INfamous Da Vinci Code.

Well, whatever it is, have a blessed Holy Thursday and I wonder whether the rain will rain as expected tomorrow? It is ...Good Friday after all....

Peace!

Raining cats and dogs! Which comes first?

It rained so heavily on Tuesday; from 4pm onwards that everywhere was flooded in this little island.
The wet weather was then compensated with an extremely HOT and SHINING sun yesterday for the whole day that you would've thought that the skies had run out of water to shower upon you.

This morning, I was so happy to hear the trinkles of the water on the roof and I knew that it is back to the rainy day!

Oh for a HAPPY day; I have always loved the rain...it's like such a happy thing, that I felt like it's as happy as my own birthday.
Yeah, in that case, it is my birthday every time it rains!

Too bad we don't have snow here; I bet I'd love snow as well, although I'd have to compensate with wearing gloves and mufflers to protect myself from the cold...BRRR...

I do feel cold now too....and my fingernails are slowly turning blue...eeeeks!

Anyway, it's definitely raining cats and dogs since this morning with an occasional pause here and there but it's ongoing...LOVE it love it!

I know I am weird; most people would hate the rain since you can't go out, you hate getting wet, etc.
In fact, I know of one particular place which has a very density of rain was also one which had the highest suicide rates in the world.
Rain seems to have a depressing effect on people; but it doesn't on me =)

Now, back to the connotation of Cats and Dogs for rain.....it's funny how they use Cats and Dogs...
If you notice, Cats come before Dogs in the alphabetical order and also the way we say it each and every time.

How true, because we usually see a cat running in front when it is being chased by a dog right?
Hehe....just thought of this when I was driving and getting stuck in a very rare jam near the Bayan Lepas intersection...wonder what was the commotion about?

Anyway, Cats and Dogs are the only ones that apply....coz if you are looking at Boys and Girls, well, Boys come first in the alphabetical order but they are the ones chasing after girls right?

On the other hand, Boys seem to always have it in their head that they are first and should be in front...and that girls are always at the back.

Ahem...wake up, that was the century dream in the past...

I do not want to get started on the gender/sexism topic but to address the earlier point, we have a name for it..

It's called MCP...go figure!

Enjoy the RAIN!!

Ended on a Happy Note...or Not?

Last Friday was an incredibly busy day; albeit me trying to scream "TGIF" at the top of my lungs, I still know that I had to embrace myself for a challenge as my boss and BIG boss were on their way to our office.

I was sent an email on Wednesday, by my boss, to inform me that they will be here on Friday.
I had to present to them (well, not that I've never done presentations before) but yet at the same time, I couldn't help wondering the whole purpose of the big boss joining the trip.

Well, nevertheless, I walked in confidently to the office and waited patiently for the two bosses to arrive.
Went through a presentation which took more about 2 hours; I planned it for 15 minutes, as instructed by my boss.
I guess they were pretty happy and intrigued by my facts and figures that they had it going on.

The only thing was, there were supposed to be two of us; and the other guy just shrugged it off without presenting.
For those of you who have heard from me, you would know which guy I am referring to.

He was just so silent throughout the whole presentation and even had the cheek to non-chalantly walk to me to ask me for a copy of my presentation.
While my bosses sang their praises for the great job I had done, he was trying so hard to be meek and friendly to me, trying to put in his praise that I had done a great job too.

Sighs, I guess some things never change....

Above All

Above all powers above all kings
Above all kingdoms
Above all nature and all created things
Above all thrones
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
Above all wonders
You were here before the world began
The world has ever known

Above all wealth
Above all kingdoms above all thrones
And treasures of the earth
Above all wonders the world has ever known
There's no way to measure
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
What You're worth
There's no way to measure what You're worth

Crucified laid behind the stone
Above all powers
You lived to die rejected and alone
Above all kings
Like a Rose trampled on the ground
Above all nature
You took the fall and thought of me
And all created things
Above all
Above all wisdom

And all the ways of man
Above all powers above all kings
You were here
Above all nature and all created things
Before the world began
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man

You were here before the world began
CHORUS

Crucified
Above all kingdoms above all thrones
Laid behind the stone
Above all wonders the world has ever known
You lived to die
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
Rejected and alone
There's no way to measure what You're worth
Like a rose

Trampled on the ground
Crucified laid behind the stone
You took the fall
You lived to die rejected and alone
And thought of me
Like a Rose trampled on the ground
Above all
You took the fall and thought of me

Above all
(Chorus)

(Chorus)
Crucified laid behind the stone

You lived to die rejected and alone
Like the rose
Like a Rose trampled on the ground
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
You took the fall
Above all
And thought of me

Above all
Like a Rose trampled on the ground

You took the fall and thought of me....

Above all

Palm Sunday and the Passion of Christ

It was Palm Sunday yesterday; a meaningful day which marks the beginning of our Holy Week for Christians worldwide as we pray and observe the solemn days towards Christ's passion before the joyful celebration of Easter.

As with all the other days during the Lent season, it is a time of perseverance and abstinence as we reflect on ourselves.
The Church, also reminds us constantly of our sins and the greatness of our God's Love where he cleansed us of our sins with his only son's blood.

During the mass yesterday, it was an emotional moment for most of us, when the church played excerpts from the famous 'Passion of Christ' along with the beautiful song, "Thank You for the Cross"

Frankly, I could never bring myself to watch Passion of Christ and who knows, I may be one of the rare statistics among all the Christians who have yet to watch this movie.
Taunt me if you want, but I just could not bear watching such a emotional movie which cannot be compared to all those other soap operas or emo dramas out there.

This is so true, I could not put myself through those disturbing images; and it was definitely one of the most explicitly detailed movie when they show the sequence of Christ being tortured to death.
It is not because I could not comprehend or could not accept the fact, but I just could not accept the evil deeds which could be done by one human to another.

I have felt emotional even as I read the Bible at a very young age and I could cry and even ask, "Why are they doing this to him?"

Yesterday, as I sat through the scenes (where I looked away from most of it), I could again feel those tears brimming at my eyes and I just couldn't go on watching with a clear mind.

Yet, it was so touching when I know that HE did it with so much courage all for the Love of us, his children and people who have sinned.

The priest made a very good statement by saying,
"If you are all feeling emotional, that is because you have just experienced LOVE.
Love is great, and powerful, it is just unselfish and giving"

How true...Praise the Lord!

Looking at how great and how selfless HE had been for the love for us, I felt that no pain could be greater compared to his when he was nailed to the cross!

All of a sudden, whatever I felt I was so suffocated about no longer was comparable to his LOVE...

I truly and humbly adore the LORD for his great love...

PRAISE the LORD!
Thank you for the cross!!

Easier said...

Sometimes, some things are easier said when you don't really mean it

When you really mean it, it becomes really difficult

You don't know how to get those words out
Sometimes, it's so near to your lips but yet it's so hard to put it out
You just have to take a gulp and swallow your own words

You do not know what it takes to have that courage to say something to someone
Especially when you know it's going to hurt
And you don't want to hurt that person
But still, you can't bear to keep it in you anymore
You fight back those tears and ask yourself, " You've got to stop being like this, it's unfair"

BUT, it's still a BIG but, how do you say it?

It's so easy when you just blabber and laugh about it after a few jokes
Because you don't mean it at all

What if you really mean it?
Can you still laugh about it?
You know there's no turning back after those words
You know it will leave behind a trail of pain and tears
You know it's stupid to be looking for sadness when things aren't so bad
But deep down inside, you also know it's something which only you will know
Something that only you have to decide
And when it hurts someone else, does it not hurt you if it is kept inside
Do you not feel the same hurt and pain when you look into that person's eyes?
Do you not feel guilty when you are being treated so nicely?

How do you just utter those words?
Just a few words, but it can leave behind a drastic effect
I really don't know how
I really can't say it...
Although I know I have to...
Is there still a choice?

Why is it so hard when I really want to mean it?
Why is it so easy when I don't mean it?
