My CNY gathering with friends

This year's CNY was made even more meaningful when I had the chance to meet up with my friends.
Ironically, we just realized that it was probably a year ago since everyone met up with each other although the last meeting (not everyone was there) was during Aaron's birthday party.
I think Mike was missing but Dane was there; and this round during the meeting, Dane was missing but Mike was there but there was an addition of Vincent.
So, guess it all made up in numbers; and hopefully there will be more addition during the next gathering.

We made plans to meet up at this famous Greenview Restaurant in PJ; SS19.

I found a lot of the food bloggers posting about this restaurant; raving about their famous specialty dishes (food photos and posts in Food Blog =)

Oh, I missed my bestie!!!

Lots of camwhoring and lots of chat boxes popping up here and there, and we were supposed to catch up on our discussion for a vacation and somehow, it didn't realize

My best girl friends since high school!!~ (Jes and Yenn =)

We had a so-called CNY feast; or a rather lavish spread of dinner while catching up with each other (or were we catching up more on the food??=P)
Lou Sang was definitely on the menu; and I think it was probably the first time we had it for ourselves (this gang I think)

Lots of good wishes and it turned out to be wishing for each other to get married soon....ishhhhh =P

Second round at Swensens' SS2; and finally a group photo!

I am missing the gang again....hope there will be a next gathering soon, or the trip? =)

CNY is over

The 15 days of CNY and the festive season is all over; after months of anticipation!
It seems like it just went past us in a breeze or a wink as I barely felt that it was 15 days ago and now it's no longer CNY?

That being said, somehow I don't feel that past the 15 days is no longer considered as CNY.
After the New Year is marked by the First Day of Spring and therefore, the first month is pretty much a new step into the New Year, right?
We are pretty much still in the New Year mood and all thing's good.
If you hear your older aunts or relatives say, they always say during this month that "It's the New Year, don't do this, don't do that"
(In Cantonese, it's translated as "San Nin Lau Lau")

We are going to have to wait for another year for all those festive food, preparations and festive stuffs which makes it all so worth celebrating =)

Of course, the most that I will miss is ANG POWs....pocket money =)
That's wealth!

Now tell me, what else are you going to miss about CNY?

Counting the days...

It's already the 5th day of CNY....it just feels like time flew past us.
It's a few months of preparation and crazy schedules; shopping and getting everything in time, and CNY just come and go in a blink of an eye.

During CNY, it is ALL about food....from the eve until this day, we are just fed to our content (or exceeding the limit too~)

I think I've had almost 4-5 Yee Sang even a week before CNY (company's Sau Kung Chow) and it continues, and tonight, I am heading for another round of Yee Sang with my close friends =)

CNY is always like this, you spend a few months rushing for practically everything and realized that by the time CNY is here, it seems like there was really nothing that you had to get sucked into those last minute shopping as the first and second day just passed before you blink your eyes.

Nevertheless, it is a tradition, a culture and most importantly, a family event where you enjoy that quality time with them (not that I don't do it all the time =)

This year is rather special for us, and we thank God for everything.

I will be posting the food and Yee Sang of my CNY extravaganzal; inclusive of my high-class Yee Sang from the company's dinner.

Only thing about this CNY; it has been incredibly HOT and dry particularly this year...or was it only me that it was PARTICULARLY HOT this year?

Thank God for the rain yesterday but it still didn't wash away the heat; and today, it's back to the sun again...aiks..

How has your CNY been so far? =D

My Raya weekend (part 2) - Road Trip to Kuala Selangor

Alright, finally my overdue post on the Raya weekend...the continuation....where my family went on a road trip to Kuala Selangor.Image Hosted by PicturePush - Photo Sharing

We were invited by one of my dad's ex-colleague who happened to be our close family friend as well.
Uncle Saad is a great person; and is a true friend in need.
I still remember the time when he paid us a visit in the hospital despite the late hour after work. It was really touching; and he brought us some simple gifts during the visit, but it was not the gifts which touched our hearts but the kind thought and effort.
Then there was the other time when he invited us to his sister-in-law's stall for a satay and makan-makan feast.

Back to the road trip, this time, he invited us to his sister's house in Ijok on the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
It was an hour's ride to Ijok which was located in the heart of Kuala Selangor.

Perhaps it was the city life, or my lifestyle that it seems like some time I have not seen these countryside sceneries and all the farms and fields.
Rock hills and plains....green...LOVELY!

Passing by a mosque on our way; it reminds me of how beautiful our country is with all the different races and cultures fitting in altogether.

I do love the sights of the Malay houses in the neighborhood....even I am in the Raya festive mood!! =P

It was a really nice house, and we were served with cookies, festive goodies and even a cooked meal by Auntie =)

Well, for the food info and pics, they will be posted on my food blog =)

Christmas is coming!!!:)

Since everyone's been in the mood for Christmas, I am definitely not out of the circle!!
I always look forward to Christmas and often indulge in the joyous mood since the end of November..(EVERY year:)

I have noticed pics of Christmas decorations everywhere in the shopping malls in KL and I also captured some of the decorations in Gurney Plaza while I was waiting for my movie a fortnight ago...

RayaVali Party

My department threw a celebration party last month in conjunction with the double celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Deepavali.
Hosted by RockYouPhotos.com
It is a cyclic departmental affair during the festive period in an effort to gather the working people from various groups for a get-together and to foster closer working relationship; in short, a social linkage opportunity:)
Being part of the organizing committee, I seldom missed any of this event and furthermore, I was selected as the MC for this event this round:)

The banners were hung up in the huge cafeteria to pipe up the celebrating mood among the employees.
